March: Spring is in the air

Hello Campers, Founding Members and the Château Curious,
In February the Camp Château was focused on getting the word out about this summer’s camp season. We have 6 open camp sessions this summer - July 4th, 11th, 18th, 26th, August 1st, 8th - and we are ready to fill them all up with campers! We have lots of wonderful campers booked already and we are excited to see that the slots are filling up quickly!
We have officially kicked off our marketing campaign and are now posting ads on LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook and I have been having a fun time meeting podcast hosts and sharing the word on lots of different platforms.
We have had a lot of wonderful press interest this past month and we will be sharing links to our exciting press coverage in the coming weeks.
First up, is my recent podcast on the Prosperous Empath, with host Catherine Wood. We had a lovely chat about my personal journey and about the creation and realization of Camp Château. Please have a listen and share your feedback. We covered so many areas, some about Camp and some about the importance of empathy, authenticiy and vulnerability in todays world.
Some of the highlights were:
How a family vacation in France turned into buying a chateau with 50 [now 60] other women and turning it into a women’s summer camp.
Why diversity and inclusion for women is important for me and how Camp Chateau encourages women to be authentic.
The importance of bringing others into your dream to keep it alive and make it a reality.
Recognizing and becoming uncomfortable with your privilege and taking action.
Using your past experience to support you in your dream job, even if it’s a different industry.
Enrolling not only yourself but others in your biggest vision and how I did so.
Meanwhile, back at the château the team has been clearing out old cupboards and getting the kitchen and storage areas ready for the first camp season. These areas have been in constant use for hundreds of years and so there have been some interesting finds! Anyone need plum jam made in 1996 or a tin of beans from 2002? No? How about a dusty bottle of 100 year old wine? Or whatever is hiding behind this door?
The onsite château team are also preparing to stage a bunk room this month so that our campers can see how a bunk room layout will look. Every camper will have a twin bed, bedside table, under bed storage and a shared hanging space for their clothes. There will also be a charging station in every room
Every bunkroom in the château has its own unique beauty and we will preserve all of that for you, we will just be adding the beds and sidetables for you and your bunk room mates. You can explore the château bedrooms here.
All of the bunkrooms will be set up for our campers nearer to the camp season, as the château, and our camp counselor quarters in La Grange, can be rented out to private groups on AirBnB until then.
Our Camp Director, Tegwen has started the process of hiring our camp counselors and interviews are underway. They have wonderful candidates to choose from and we will share the profiles of the selected counselors with you next month.

If you are hoping to join us all at Camp next summer, remember, you only need to pay the 10% deposit now to hold a place for yourself or for your group of friends. That minimum deposit will be going up to 30% on March 15th.
